There are certain people in our life who hold a special place in our heart. Friends with whom we have a mutual relationship of trust, affection, cooperation, and support. They are a vital part of living life to the max, and someone who fills courage and confidence in our heart. We spend delightful moments together, celebrate our successes, and get through our defeats. Friends are our comfort zone, an escape from loneliness, and our partners in crime.
Friendship is so important that back in 1958 in Paraguay, the first International Friendship Day was proposed. To mark this holiday, the UN encourages governments and organizations to hold events and activities that will promote mutual understanding, reconciliation, and solidarity. It's a beautiful day intended to foster friendships and bridge the gaps between color, religion, and race. As UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon once said: "On this International Day of Friendship, let us resolve to cherish and cultivate as many warm relationships as possible, enriching our own lives and enhancing the future."
